About Us

Our members are from a wide range of areas. Our members live, work, worship or attend school in Chittenden, Addison, Franklin, Lamoille, Washington and Grand Isle counties. If you live, work, worship or attend school in any of these counties, you can join!

Vermont Federal Credit Union is a full service, member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution. Since our members are also the owners, they benefit from the success of the credit union. This is in the form of monthly dividends, lower loan rates and higher deposit rates.

As a cooperative institution, our members take an active role in the credit union. They are the reason for the credit union's existence and through their voice as volunteers on the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee and Credit Committee, they provide the credit union with the leadership and direction that best serve the membership as a whole.

One of the primary functions of the credit union is to protect, preserve and safeguard the assets of our member-owners. In addition to the day-to-day efforts of our professional management team, your funds are federally insured to at least $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the Federal Government.

Once you have joined the credit union by opening your share savings account with the $25 minimum deposit, you can enjoy all of our membership benefits wherever you live or work, now or in the future by maintaining that minimum deposit.

Your membership in the credit union also opens membership to your family members by blood, marriage or adoption. Because you are a member, they can also join. So share the credit union's advantages with your spouse, children, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins . . . any relative!
