Vermont Federal Credit Union Elects Board of Directors at 55th Annual Meeting On April 12, 2008, Vermont Federal Credit Union Celebrated its 55th Anniversary at an Annual Meeting and Gala. The event, held at UVM's Dudley Davis Center, brought out 225 members and guests for an amazing evening that included a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, many give-aways and of course, our annual meeting. This year there were two directors re-elected to the Board of Director's, Curran "Spike" Robinson and Gil Tabor:
Curran "Spike" Robinson retired as vice wing commander from the Vermont Air National Guard in 1998, after serving more than 35 years in unifrom. Twenty-nine of those years were in a full-time capacity where he held more than 35 years in uniform. Spike is a graduate of St. Michael's College and has been with the credit union since 1970. He was elected to the board in 1985 and has served as our chairman since 1993. He served in the State Legislature from 2003 until 2005 as the representative from Richmond. Spike has represented the credit union at many directors' conferences on both the local and national level. Gilbert Tabor is the retired director of the VermontServiceCenter of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in St. Albans. He was associated with the Immigration and Naturalization service for twenty-seven years with a total of thirty-one years of service in the Federal Government. Gil attended the University of Vermont and is a veteran of the United States Navy. He served on the Orlex Government Employees Credit Union Board of Directors for six years. Gil has been a director of the Drift Duster Snow Mobile Club in Derby, has served on the Board of Directors for Vermont Federal Credit Union for the last 14 years and is currently our Vice Chairman of that board. In addition, Robert Mahaney and Susan Horsford were re-elected to the Credit Committee: Robert Mahaney retired from the United States Air Force in 1976. In 2000, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 24 years. Bob has over 45 years of federal experience. He has been a member of the credit union for 20 years. He is currently a substitute teacher at BFA in St. Albans, during the winter and spring months Susan B. Horsford retired from the Internal Revenue Service in April 2004 after 45 years as a federal civil servant. She began her career with the Federal Government in 1955 at seventeen with the newley organized Regional Office of Immigration. She left INS in 1967 to stay home with her two young sons. Sue joined the credit union in 1963 and was first elected to the Credit Committee in 1986. She is a native Vermonter.
